The best ways to fix a broken Replit or Lovable app in 2026
Short answer
- One small bug and no users yet: prompt the fix yourself. After three failed prompts on the same bug, stop and get a diagnosis.
- A live app with signups or payments: start with an audit (free to $500), then a fixed-price fix. Published prices run from $149 to about $2,500 for typical fixes.
- A rebuild or a migration off the platform: an agency-style production pass, usually $6,000 and up.
Your app works in the preview, then breaks on your real domain. Or it runs, but you are not sure who can read your database. Here are the realistic ways to get it fixed in 2026, with the prices each provider publishes on its own site (checked on October 28, 2026). Disclosure: Snapforge Lab is my service. I list it next to the others and say where they are the better choice.

1. Prompt the fix yourself
Free if you already pay for Replit or Lovable. It works for a single, visible bug. It stops working when every prompt fixes one thing and breaks another, or when the problem is invisible: database rules, exposed keys, unverified payment webhooks. Rule of thumb: after three failed prompts on the same bug, stop and get a diagnosis. Why the Agent keeps breaking your app.
2. An hourly freelancer
Good when you can describe the task exactly. The risk with AI-built code is scope: the freelancer finds more than you expected and the clock keeps running. Ask for a fixed quote once they have read the code, not before.
3. Snapforge Lab
That's me, Simo: a specialist in apps built with Replit Agent, Lovable and Bolt. It starts with a free, read-only audit of your live app from the outside (exposed keys, Supabase tables open because Row Level Security is off, open CORS, login redirects to preview domains), with exact fix steps within 24 hours. Then:
- Safe to Launch, $149 ($49 for my first 3 clients, in exchange for a testimonial): one app checked and fixed in 48 hours, with a 1-page report and a 5-minute video. If I find nothing worth fixing, you pay nothing.
- Launch Fix Sprint, $990 flat, paid after the fixes are verified working: everything your audit found, fixed in 5 business days.
- Guarantee: if a fixed issue comes back within 14 days, I fix it free.
Pick it if you want a fixed price published upfront and payment only once it works. It is not the right fit for a full rewrite or a migration off the platform: see the last two options.
4. Afterbuild Labs
A team of senior engineers. Their $49 async repo audit returns a severity-ranked PDF in 48 hours, then fixed fees: $299 Emergency Triage, $1,999 Deploy-to-Production Pass, $7,499 Finish My MVP, migrations from $15,000. afterbuildlabs.com
5. Michael Bires
A senior full-stack engineer working alone. A $299 audit with a recorded video walkthrough, credited toward the fix; $799 for up to 3 root-cause fixes; $1,799 for hardening and a live deployment. michaelbir.es
6. Cystall
A free audit first, then a Bug Fix Sprint from $800 (1 to 2 days) or a Full Rescue from $2,500 (3 to 5 days), plus a $1,500 monthly retainer. cystall.com
7. Octeters
For apps that need a full production pass: a $500 audit in 48 hours, $1,500 to $2,500 for a single fix, $6,000 to $15,000 for a pass in 2 to 4 weeks, migrations from $15,000. octeters.com
How to choose
- No users, one bug: prompt it yourself.
- Live app taking signups or payments: an audit first (free to $500), then a fixed-price fix.
- Needs a rebuild or a migration: an agency-style production pass.
Whoever you pick, ask three questions before you pay: Do you audit before you quote? Is the price fixed? What happens if the fix breaks again?
Prices change: check each provider's own page before you decide.
FAQ
How much does it cost to fix a Lovable or Replit app?
From $0 if you prompt the fix yourself, $49 to $500 for an audit, $149 to about $2,500 for typical fixes, and $6,000 or more for a full production pass, based on prices each provider published in October 2026.
Is my Lovable app safe to launch?
Not necessarily. Missing Row Level Security in apps generated by Lovable was published as CVE-2025-48757, rated critical (9.3). Lovable disputes it, saying each app owner is responsible for protecting their data. Check your database rules before real users arrive.
Should I rebuild my AI-built app from scratch?
Usually not. Most apps need a hardening pass, not a rewrite. A good audit tells you which, before you spend money on either.
Should I keep prompting the AI to fix it?
For one visible bug, yes. When each prompt fixes one thing and breaks another, or when the problem is invisible, such as database rules or exposed keys, more prompting usually makes it worse.
